Goals
We are looking forward to extend our projects not just in unoccupied, suitable, and available lands and remote areas, but also on urban and/or populated areas as well. Anahaw Records will be taking care of the established forests.
We ensure to take full responsibility of any damages made by our organization, and facilitate any tree-related conflicts between us and the people.
Aimed Projects
Reforestation
We aim to plant trees on existing forests or establish new forests in areas that is suitable and available for mass tree planting. We could either plant similar trees or plant other trees that is suitable for the target area.
Urban Trees
We aim to plant appropriate trees on parks, outskirts, sidewalks, sheds, and more. "Appropriate trees" meaning trees that doesn't interfere with tall objects like electrical posts, streetlamps, or any tall structures.
Agrosilvopastoral Systems
We aim to promote the practice of Agroforestry, which is the integration of woody vegetation like trees, shrubs, bamboo, etc., with crops and/or livestock on the same land management unit.
Silviculture and Orchards
We aim to establish forests that is available to produce timber, and any other wood products. We also aim to establish forests of trees that bear fruits, which can be cultivated and sold in the market.
Urban Gardening
We aim to introduce gardening to more people, even in the middle of the city. Starting from a small scale like your window or balcony and expanding it later to a much larger scale like your rooftop! Growing your own food isn't impossible.
Composting / Vermicomposting
Tons of food waste are produced worldwide, every year. Instead of throwing our kitchen scraps into the trash, we can just add them to our compost! Making our own compost out of green and brown wastes creates an excellent 100% organic fertilizers, making a cycle of back-and-forth nutrients for our plants!
SDG Scores
We also make sure that our projects supports the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals especially the following:

SDG #2 - Zero Hunger
Fruit-bearing trees provide us food, so planting and replanting trees can help us solve hunger in rural and urban communities. We also mentioned the promotion of agroforestry in livelihoods who rely on agriculture, to increase the efficiency of farms, poultry, and livestock.
SDG #3 - Good Health and Well-being
Trees contribute to cleaner air because it absorbs air pollutants and reduces the odds of getting infected by a respiratory disease. Trees can provide us shade from the sun and brings cooler air. Trees also provide us materials which can be used as ingredients to make medicine.

SDG #6 - Clean Water and Sanitation
Trees can contribute to water cycle. It has the ability collect and filter water, absorb any harmful substances, then release it back slowly to large bodies of water, or produce water vapor and/or ground water from its leaves or roots. With reforestation, trees can significantly improve water supply and water quality. Trees can also help reduce the risk of soil erosion from water runoff, which will then cause excess sediments to pollute the water.
SDG #9 - Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Healthy forests can provide resources needed to build and/or infrastructures like roads, and buildings, which is also the key to innovation. Providing other resources from trees like fruits from orchards that can be sold in the market can be a good source of income, helping the industry and economic growth of the community.

SDG #11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities
Planting trees on urban areas can clean the air and help reduce the carbon emission and air pollutants, by absorbing harmful chemicals which are the cause of air pollution. Trees can also ease the impact of natural disasters like floods, typhoons, storms, etc., increasing urban resilience.
SDG #12 - Responsible Consumption and Production
Maintaining a forest makes the people become a responsible consumer of its resources. Not just in forest resources, but also in energy consumption. Trees planted in our yards cool our homes, reducing the use of air conditioning appliances which consumes electricity. Agroforestry plays an essential role to the production of agricultural goods by preserving the soil for better future harvests.

SDG #13 - Climate Action
As mentioned from the previous SDGs, forests can improve soil, water, and air quality. A mature tree can absorb up to 22lbs of carbon dioxide a year, making them a natural sponge for carbon. And as they absorb carbon and other greenhouse gases which cause the earth to heat, they release oxygen in exchange, producing filtered and clean air. Reforestation can also provide shelter to wild animals, while fighting climate change.
SDG #14 - Life Below Water
Any ecological impact that happens on land has implications to aquatic ecosystems too. This includes sediment flow from surface run-off, algal bloom from nitrogen and phosphorus content of fertilizers, and atmospheric emission which causes depletion of oxygen, acidification of lakes and rivers, and loss of marine biodiversity. With reforestation, trees can absorb and break down harmful substances. This will prevent air and water from carrying pollutants to bodies of water which harms aquatic organisms.

SDG #17 - Partnership for the Goals
Extending our projects across the Philippines and worldwide is one of our plans, and we won't be able to execute our projects without the help of other people. Building a relationship between other organizations and companies allows us to keep up with our strengths and weaknesses, and work as efficient as we can. Everyone can be involved in tree planting related activities.
